Sessional Instructor, The Organization and Diversity of Life, Department of Biological Sciences

Position Description

The Department of Biological Sciences invites applications for a Sessional Instructor to teach the following during the Fall 2018 Session:

  • BIOL 205 – The Organization and Diversity of Life

This course provides a study of biological concepts and mechanisms for non-majors, illustrated by current examples of medical and environmental problems. The first part of the course deals with biological concepts and mechanisms relating to biochemistry and cell biology; the second part of the course deals with organismal biology, ecology and evolution.

The appointee will have responsibilities for instruction and associated duties for the second half of the course during the Fall 2018 Session. There are no laboratories or tutorials associated with this course.

Candidates require: a minimum of an MSc in one of the biological sciences, with a PhD preferred; evidence of teaching effectiveness and previous teaching experience, preferably in this course.
