Position Description

The Department of Biological Sciences invites applications for a Sessional Instructor to teach the following course during the Fall 2018 Term:

  • ECOL 529 - Molecular Ecology and Evolution

Ecology 529 provides an examination of molecular ecology and evolution. Molecular Ecology utilizes population genetics, phylogenetics, and genomics to address questions in ecology, evolution, behaviour and conservation. Topics will include principal and emerging molecular techniques for characterizing and analyzing genetic variation to test quantitative predictions from ecological and evolutionary theory. There are no laboratories or tutorials associated with this course.

The appointee will have responsibilities for instruction and associated duties in this course. Minimum qualifications are an M.Sc. in Ecology or Evolutionary Biology, a strong understanding of introductory ecology, study design and data analysis, and teaching experience, preferably in this course. Preferred qualifications would include a Ph.D. in Ecology or Evolutionary Biology, and a strong substantial record demonstrating teaching excellence, ideally in this course.
