Position Description

The Department of Biological Sciences invites applications for a Sessional Instructor to teach the following course during the Winter 2019 Session:

  • BIOL 243 - DNA, Inheritance and Evolution

The appointee will have responsibilities for instruction and associated duties of the second half of this 3-unit course during the Winter 2019 Session; because there are two lecture sections per day, these duties will be considered equivalent to teaching all of a 3-unit course. The second half of this course provides an introduction to central concepts in evolution and biodiversity. Duties will not include coordination of the laboratory component of the course.

Candidates require: a minimum of an MSc in one of the biological sciences, with a PhD preferred; and evidence of teaching effectiveness and previous teaching experience, preferably in this course. Previous experience in teaching Biology 243 is an important asset.
